After logging just one win and 13 losses in Division II last season, the Southampton boys lacrosse team is keeping its goals realistic this spring.
Head coach Brian Tenety said the Mariners intend to stay competitive and, hopefully, earn some wins against other schools in the bottom half of the division, while also gaining experience and learning from their tougher opponents.
“Kids are starting to buy into the whole idea of playing year round,” he said. With 21 players, Tenety said the team has depth this season and the players are gaining experience and improving their intelligence for the game. “We’re still trying to build the program in a positive manner,” he added.
