Steven Thomas LaHowchic
Steven Thomas LaHowchic of Southampton died on November 8. He was 57.
The son of Mary LaHowchic of Florida and the late Nicholas LaHowchic, he was a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, where he remained active in the alumni group.
Mr. LaHowchic operated a residential construction company in Southampton and created and coordinated the annual “CKR” Golf Outing—a benefit to help support scholarships for graduating high school students interested in trade schools. He coordinated this event for 10 years, and survivors said his efforts were much appreciated. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid supporter of Human Resources of the Hamptons.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers and their wives, Michael and Maryann LaHowchic of New Jersey and Nicholas and Diane LaHowchic of Florida; two nieces, Tara Anne LaHowchic and Nicole Marie and husband Dan Plescia; nephew John Michael LaHowchic and his wife, Teresa Chikosky; three great-nephews, Luke, Dylan and John Michael; and a great-niece, Hallie.
The family received visitors on November 11 and November 12 at the Beaugard Funeral Home in River Edge, New Jersey. A funeral mass was held on November 13 at St. Joseph Church in Oradell, New Jersey. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Human Resources of the Hamptons, 168 Hill Street, Southampton, NY 11968 would be appreciated by the family.
