Old Southampton High School uniforms were donated to children in Burkina Faso thanks to the efforts of Matt Kirwin, a 1991 graduate of Southampton.
Thanks to a 1991 graduate of Southampton High School, old Mariners uniforms that had been collecting dust in a storage closet have been given a new life and purpose.
Matt Kirwin, a Mariner alum now living and working in Washington, D.C., as an analyst for the U.S. State Department, spent a number of years both working and volunteering in West Africa after graduating from college. During the time he spent there, he witnessed what he says was a desperate need for better infrastructure and support for youth sports.
