As an art project Alana Ellis and Betzy Pillco painted a wall with the words of success outside the Academic Enrichment room. Cristen Keyes’s third-graders—Bella Tarbet, Amanda Krahe, Lisbeth Leon, Ariana Islami, Emilio Yanez, and Hayden Edwards—each chose a word from the wall and had to define it. The favorite words were zest, curiosity, empathy and determination.

Snow (or the lack of snow) inspired the students performing at the Winter Concert. The Winter Concert was hosted by Riley Gaugler and Tyler Chittavong. Paloma Bahi, sang a solo in “Slow Dancing in the Snow,” directed by Margaret Thompson. Seventh-grader Nicole Lockwood took the lead with her flute in a difficult section of another snowy piece, directed by Ben Jones. The entire chorus and band played to a large audience with the stage decorated by polar bears created by the Studio in Art class and the sixth-graders.

A group of eighth graders made animations of their childhood experiences. Editors Ryan Tuthill and Colton Notel Dunn blended together scenes from buying a dog, falling off a bike, and losing a lizard in the house.
