C. Scott Butler
Wainscott resident Charles Scott Butler, known to all as Scott, died on July 22 at Stony Brook University Medical Center of complications from hemophilia, from which he suffered since birth. He was 21.
Scott attended the Wainscott Common School for his elementary education, graduated from East Hampton High School in 2007 and went on to attend Santa Barbara City College, graduating in 2009 with a degree in automotive engineering. He worked as a New York State Department of Motor Vehicles inspector and general mechanic.
He is survived by his parents, Wendy and Charlie Butler, and an older brother, Mark, all of Wainscott; his grandfather, William Lowe of Bridgehampton; his aunts, uncles, cousins and his extended family, the White girls of Sagaponack, Laura, Roxanne and Juliana.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Anne Lowe, and his paternal grandparents, Cecilia and Charles Butler of Bridgehampton.
A memorial gathering held on Sunday at the family home in Wainscott was attended by his family and hundreds of his loving friends.
