East Hampton Town Police are still looking for the man they say threatened a gas station clerk with a handgun Sunday morning.
No injuries were reported in the late morning robbery when a man entered the gas station and threatened a 42-year-old clerk with what appeared to be a handgun, according to a press release from East Hampton Town Police on Sunday. The man fled the scene on foot toward the northwest, though it is unclear how much cash was stolen from the register during the incident.
The man has been described as either a Caucasian or Hispanic male. He was wearing a dark ski cap, a face mask and glasses, a dark colored sweatshirt and dark pants during the incident, according to police.
Police are asking anyone with information on the crime to call detectives at 631-537-7575.
East Hampton Town Police are looking for someone they say flashed a handgun at a clerk at the Speedway Gas Station in Wainscott Sunday morning demanding cash.
It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the incident at the Montauk Highway store that was called in at 11:37 a.m. this morning, though police say it remains an active investigation as of Sunday afternoon.
No other information is available at this time.
