Get ready to dance, dine and socialize on the front lawn of the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill starting this weekend as the “Sounds of Summer” music series kicks off with a familiar New Orleans sound—and East End favorite.
The nine-piece HooDoo Loungers will play a two-hour set on Friday, May 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., a monthly tradition what will continue on the first Friday of every month all summer long. A celebratory contradance with Dave Harvey and Dunegrass, in honor of Southampton 375th anniversary, will be held on June 5, followed by Mambo Loco on July 3, Jake Lear Blues on August 7, and bluegrass and barbecue with the Ebony Hillbillies on September 4.
The last Friday of every month will be host to “Jazz en Plein Air,” beginning May 29 with The Jam Session and the Thursday Night Live Band, and continuing June 26 with Richie Siegler’s Quartet; July 31 with Hendrik Meurkens and his Samba Jazz Quartet; and August 28 with Alex Sipiagin.
Concerts are free with museum admission, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. For more information, visit parrishart.org.
