Bespoke: One Year And $400 Million Later

It’s been one year since Bespoke Real Estate opened its first office on the East End in Water Mill. According to brothers and co-founders Zach and Cody Vichinsky, the firm has brought in more than $400 million in business over the last 12 months.

“Statistically, we are far beyond our goals,” said Cody Vichinsky, who spoke with The Press on September 22.

Bespoke has reportedly had a banner year in sales, including 25 transactions with an average sale price of $15.38 million. There were 17 sales above $10 million; eight sales above $20 million; four sales above $30 million; and three sales above $35 million.

“Our original goal was not so much numerical; it was about entering the marketplace in a tasteful way,” Mr. Vichinsky said. “We have a focus on the market that is relatively unique.” That focus happens to be on properties that are valued at $10 million and above. “There’s a lot of meat on the bone in the Hamptons for us to look at. Our goal was to create a good brand and execute promises to clients,” he said.

The brothers, both under the age of 35, worked for Corcoran for a combined eight years before going in their own direction and creating Bespoke. Their company offers a high-end “tailored” approach they describe as more like a concierge service than a brokerage. New York City clients, for example, could receive helicopter rides to East Hampton Airport where a private car will pick them up and drive them to the Bespoke office.

Going forward, the brothers have their eyes set on some new listings currently in development—speculative houses being built on Quimby Lane in Bridgehampton and on Parsonage Lane in Sagaponack valued at more than $20 million, among them.

“We have a lot of great properties in our pipeline,” Mr. Vichinsky said.

Tips for Avoiding Rental Scams
