Angel Rojas of Hampton Bays cruised to an easy win in the fifth annual Flying Point Run for autism awareness on Sunday morning in Water Mill. The 24-year-old won the race in 27:55 (5:37 pace) in what was the
first year that the course
was shortened from a 10K to an 8K.
Rojas had a comfortable lead on Justin Kulchinsky, 37, of East Hampton who was second in 29:46 (6:00). Jim MacWhinnie, 38, of Southampton was third in 31:47 (6:24) and Emily Brust, 14, a wheelchair competitor, crossed the finish line fourth in 32:00 (6:27).
