Peter Strassfield was named All County Wrestler.
One of my favorite quotes, one that comes up when people IM me and I am away from my computer is “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my mother.” That quote is attributed to Abraham Lincoln and, I’ve got to say, I could not agree with ol‘ Abe more. But I’ll say more about that for a column in May when we all pay tribute to our mothers.
I mention Lincoln because Sunday was his birthday. While some had the day off on Monday in honor of the occasion, most have to wait until this Monday, Presidents’ Day, to celebrate. That is, of course, unless you work for a newspaper that never closes on a Monday. But I digress.
