The price on a mansion on Mecox Bay in Water Mill has dropped in price almost $20 million as of late July. The home, located at 315 Rose Hill Road, was once valued at $58.5 million. It is now listed for $39.5 million.
Douglas Elliman still controls the listing and has just removed the original $58.5 million listing from its site. It has also switched up the agents since the property first went on the market more than two years ago. The 20,000-square-foot home sits on 4 acres of land and has eight bedrooms, 12 baths, a pool, a tennis court and frontage on the bay.
Since its design makes it look like a knockoff of the White House, Curbed Hamptons selected the house as an ideal spot for Bill and Hillary Clinton to check out when they were reportedly searching for a house on the East End two years ago, though there was no evidence the couple was ever actually interested in the home. Considering the size of the price cut, it seems that few people were interested in the property—at least not for $58 million.
