Walter F. Lenowicz of Westhampton died on June 12, after a nine-month battle with multiple myeloma and resulting complications. He was 70.
Mr. Lenowicz’s accomplishments were many. He served in the U.S. Navy with honors, spent 25 years with the Xerox Corporation and had a second career of 10 years as a New York State police officer. Survivors said, however, his biggest source of pride and joy came from his marriage of nearly 49 years to his wife, Diane; three daughters, Pamela, Christine and Cynthia; and four grandchildren, Rose, Clay, Violet and Joy, all of whom survive.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mattituck. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes in Mattituck.
