Frank D. Gordon II of Westhampton Beach died on August 14 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. He was 83.
The son of Clara Winters Gordon and Frank D. Gordon Sr., both of whom predeceased him, he quit school at age 16 to help support his divorced mother and younger brother. He was trained as an electrician by the late Fred Debes of Quogue. Mr. Gordon served his country as an Army medic and electrician during the Korean War.
He clashed with politicians, neighbors and law enforcement but will fondly be remembered as the “Go-to Guy” when help was needed, survivors said.
He is survived by five children, Kallie Gordon, Nancy Gordon, Frank D. Gordon III, Christopher Gordon and Daniel Gordon; and several grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 11 a.m. at the Westhampton Cemetery.
