With this winter being as mild as it has been, it was warm enough for me to grab my camera gear and catch the sunset on Sunday evening without donning too many layers of clothing. I drove down to the end of Oneck Lane and set up my camera and tripod looking southwest over Moriches Bay.
I knew it was a good angle to catch the setting sun because I use The Photographer’s Ephemeris. It is an application on my laptop and iPhone that shows me exactly where the sun and moon will be as they move across the sky. It also provides other pertinent information to help me plan my shoots.
