An unidentified driver was transported by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead following a two-car accident early Thursday afternoon on Old Country Road in Westhampton.Westhampton Beach Fire Department 2nd Assistant Chief Ross Donneson, who responded to the accident, described the crash as “minor” and said it involved a Lexus SUV and a second vehicle. He did not know how many people were in the vehicles at the time of the crash.
Mr. Donneson said a section of Old County Road, starting at its intersection with Montauk Highway, was closed for about an hour due to the accident. It has since been reopened.
