Apr 17, 2012 10:29 AM

The Westhampton Beach softball team picked up its best victory to date on Monday evening, winning 3-2, at Shoreham/Wading River.

Tara Boeshore did it all for the Lady Hurricanes, hitting a two-out, two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to give her team the one-run lead and eventual win. She also pitched a complete game and allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts.

Westhampton Beach’s previous win came on April 2, when it defeated still winless Elwood/John Glenn. Shoreham, though, was 3-2 in League VI play coming into Monday’s game.

The Lady Canes improved to 2-4 in League VI.
