The Hulu original drama series “The Path” was filming in Westhampton Beach last week for its second season, coming out next year.
The show, starring Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan and Hugh Dancy, had a staging area at St. Mark’s Church and the village green located on Main Street, where the film crew parked more than a dozen large moving trucks and other vehicles. Around noon last Wednesday, a coach bus stopped on Main Street to let out a group of extras involved in the filming who were headed to St. Mark’s.
The film crew also set up at John Scott’s Surf Shack on Dune Road with Westhampton Beach Police cars parked along the entrance to the restaurant and officers directing traffic. A yellow “To Set” sign posted across the street had an arrow pointing to the casual eatery, which was closed for filming during lunch hours and re-opened for dinner at 5 p.m. after the crew had left.
According to restaurant manager Sean Casey, who was present during filming, actors Hugh Dancy and Melanie Griffith were on set, but not the lead star Aaron Paul known for his role as Jesse Pinkman in “Breaking Bad.”
“The crew couldn’t have been nicer,” Mr. Casey said. “They filmed a scene where they were rolling into the restaurant and sitting at the bar.”
Several trucks were also parked outside a residential property on 303 Dune Road Tuesday and Wednesday, where “The Path” was said to be filming as well.
