Elaine Raynor, formerly of Westhampton Beach,died on September 15, as a result of an injury. She was 90.
After living most of her life in Westhampton Beach, she and her husband, Robert, moved to a retirement community in Lenox, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Raynor had a career in the field of early childhood education. In the early 1960s she co-founded the village’s first private non-sectarian nursery school, an enterprise that remained in business for 45 years. Later, she taught kindergarten in the public school in Rocky Point. After retirement, Mrs. Raynor became an active volunteer in Lenox.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce of the Bronx, and Brian of Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Eric, Jeremy and Madeline; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke.
A private interment ceremony will be held at a later date.
