Jean F. Becchio of Westhampton died in her sleep at home on Valentine’s Day, February 14. She was 88.
Born on December 8, 1925, in Freeport, to James L. Dunn and Lillian Westervelt Dunn, she was a bookkeeper at Bohan-Dunn, Inc., her father’s men’s clothing shop on Fifth Avenue in New York City. She met her husband, Robert Victor Becchio, on a blind date at Jones Beach. They were married on June 10, 1950, and raised three children in Baldwin and Westhampton, where they lived for the past 45 years.
Survivors said she was a loving mother and wife, and a devoted parish member at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Westhampton Beach, as well as an avid swimmer at the Swordfish Beach Club.
Ms. Becchio is survived by her husband, Robert Victor Becchio; three children, Maryann Halsey, Jeanann Molocznik and Robert Joseph Becchio; five grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Jessica, Olivia and Susanna; and two great-grandchildren, Kyla and Kate. She was predeceased by three sisters, Kate Dunn, Lillian Coffey and Mary Ackerman.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
