George M. Boden Dies October 4

George M. Boden died Ocotber 4, 2017, surrounded by his family, in Savannah, Georgia. He was 75.

Mr. Boden was born in the Bronx on September 10, 1942, to George and Mary Boden. He was raised in Wantagh, and lived most of his life on Long Island before retiring to Savannah, Georgia. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1960, and the University of Notre Dame in 1964; he played three sports in high school and varsity sports in college.

After graduation, he was in management with the Borden Company and M&M Trucking, before starting his own company, Promotional Graphics Inc. He and his wife purchased a retail food store in East Hampton, which they owned for 13 years before retiring to the Ford Plantation, near Savannah in 2009.

Survivors said he will be remembered for his love of family, lifelong friendships, his passion for Chaminade and Notre Dame, pride for his Irish heritage, story telling and generosity.

He is survived by his wife, Nina; eight children, Barbara Boden-Tosolini and husband Neil, Karen Boden, Michael Boden, Matt Boden and wife Debbie, Chessie Lee Ralston and husband Tom, Katie Elzey and husband Mike, Kellyn Blount and husband Jimmie, and Hoyt McGarity and fiancée Mila; and eight grandchildren, Will Poulin, Ryan Poulin, John Poulin, Danny Boden, Maddie Boden, Piper Boden, Delaney Boden, and Tylan Ralston. He is also survived by his brother, Don and wife Linda; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his younger brother, Bobby, in 2016; his sister-in-law, Christa, survives.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach. A funeral Mass will be held on October 12, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue, followed by a reception at The Claddagh in Westhampton Beach.
