Dr. Wilson Reynolds Nichols Jr. of Westhampton died August 21, 2018, with his family by his side. He was 84.
Born December 29, 1933, in Southampton, Dr. Nichols lived and raised his family in Westhampton. He attended the University of Virginia in Richmond and served in the United States Marine Corps as a jet pilot during the Korean War.
Returning to the University of Virginia, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and went on to begin his private practice in Westhampton Beach and Quogue. In his free time, he spent his days fishing and duck hunting.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Conway Nichols of Parsons, Kansas. He is survived by his children and their families: Lieutenant Mark R. Nichols and wife Eva Marie Schappe Nichols; Eric P. Nichols and wife Julie DeRocco Nichols and their daughter, Chelsea Nichols; Eileen Nichols Smith and her son, Jacub E. Smith; and Christopher J. Nichols.
