The Hampton Business District in Westhampton is expected to gain another tenant by the start of the new year.

Restoration Hardware recently entered a lease agreement with the business district’s developer, Rechler Equity Partners, to use more than 16,000 square feet of space at the Gabreski Airport-based business park for warehouse, distribution and office facilities to expand the company’s services on the East End.

Restoration Hardware, which goes by RH, sells luxury furniture collections and home goods in design galleries throughout the United States and Canada. On Long Island, it currently has a gallery in East Hampton and an outlet in Tanger Outlets in Riverhead. This new space is located between the two existing stores.

“This lease represents another major company taking advantage of the quality accommodations offered by the Hampton Business District to expand their business and service offerings,” added Gregg Rechler, co-managing partner of Rechler Equity Partners. “The space provided at the Hampton Business District is unique to Long Island’s East End, and we are proud to be developing a product that continues to increase in demand and boosts the local economy.”

RH is able to promptly move into the existing building at 200 Rogers Way because Rechler Equity is providing a “turnkey installation, allowing them to move in with very minimal modifications needed”—a key deciding factor, as stated in a press release.

Ted Trias, the Hampton Business District’s director of acquisitions and leasing, said that the two-year-old building is currently undergoing renovations to suit RH, adding that he thinks the company will move in by January. The press release also stated that the large space includes four loading docks, which is more than what other warehousing and distribution spaces of similar size offer.

Rechler Equity Partners, the largest commercial real estate owner on Long Island, signed a 40-year lease with Suffolk County in 2009 to develop the Hampton Business District, located at the Francis S. Gabreski Airport.

The district’s first two industrial buildings are currently occupied by Tate’s Bake Shop, the Westhampton Beach Brewing Company, Carrier Enterprise and AC Lighting and Electrical Supplies. A third, 64,000-square-foot building is nearing completion in the district, which will be used for office space.

Restoration Hardware representatives could not be reached for comment.
