Dorothy M. MillerDorothy M. Miller of Westhampton died on June 6 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 85.
Ms. Miller was born on March 8, 1929, and was raised in the Bronx along with siblings Lillian and Leon Tonelson. She was of Jewish descent. She worked in retail at Bloomingdale’s, lived on Dune Road and was a longtime resident of Westhampton. Survivors said she found joy in fishing on the bay and eating a great sandwich by the ocean. Ms. Miller had many nicknames, known variously as Dot, Dottie and M&M.
Ms. Miller is survived by three children, Tina Pavane of New York, Roger Pavane of Georgia and Robert Miller of California; a brother, Leon Tonelson of Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Zoë Horneck, Olivia Pavane and Heidi Miller; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian, in August 2013. For the past 18 years she lived with Elaine Morgan and the Bakers, Harry, Lisa, Dustin and Taylor, in Westhampton.
A private interment of her ashes took place on June 14. The Bakers will hold a celebration of her life in August.
