Glenn Irvin Lipp of Westhampton Beach died on August 22, having fought leukemia since being diagnosed in April 2013. After a brief stay at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he died at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. He was 69.
Mr. Lipp attended the University of Illinois–Urbana Champaign, where he earned an undergraduate and graduate degree in economics and communications. He played football and served as a member of the Farm House Fraternity. A public affairs senior programs manager for DuPont in India, Mr. Lipp was named the first Public Affairs Fellow. His career spanned 30 years and included leadership positions in the United States and Asia, for both Chemicals and Specialties and Conoco. After retiring from DuPont, he founded his own consulting firm, LippService.
In his free time, Mr. Lipp enjoyed playing golf. He was a longtime member of the DuPont Country Club and, upon retirement to Westhampton Beach, the Vineyards Golf Club.
Mr. Lipp is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan (Klotz) Lipp; two daughters, Alexandra Santiago DiBiaso and husband Nicholas, and Molly Molloy Martin and husband Joshua Martin. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Serafina and Francesca; and two nephews, Michael and Andrew Bulkeley.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Glenn Lipp; and a sister, Deanna Bulkeley.
A wake was held at the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on August 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Westhampton Presbyterian Church on Quiogue on Thursday, August 28, at 11 a.m.
