It was the Peter-John Ferrebee Show when the Westhampton Beach boys track team hosted Miller Place on Thursday, April 18.

Ferrebee, a senior, won four different events and the Hurricanes (1-2 League VI) defeated the Panthers, 75-66, to earn their first dual meet victory of the season.

“It was nice to get our first win with such a young team,” Westhampton Beach head coach Jim Ford said.

Ferrebee won the long jump, triple jump, 110-meter high hurdles and 400-meter intermediate hurdles, scoring a total of 20 points for Westhampton Beach. He won the long jump with a leap of 18 feet 4 inches and the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet 10 inches. Ferrebee won the high hurdles in 16.5 seconds the intermediate hurdles in 66 seconds.

“Peter-John works so hard and winning four events in a dual meet is evidence of that,” Ford said. “I think the last athlete to do that was my volunteer assistant coach Jared Nilsson. Peter-John has worked very closely with Coach Nilsson and it has obviously been a great benefit.”

Westhampton Beach had a number of athletes who won their respective events. Greg Hulbert, a junior, won the 400-meter dash in 55.9 seconds. Sophomore Christian Schroder won the shot put with a throw of 35 feet. Patrick Osborne, another sophomore, won the discus with a throw of 85 feet 8 inches.

Hampton Bays
The Hampton Bays girls track team had a bye week from dual meets this week, but competed at the Joe Brandi Relays at Connetquot High School on Saturday. The Lady Baymen had a handful of girls who placed.

Moynihan had a throw of 102 feet 8 inches while Judice’s throw went 74 feet 2 inches.
