New York State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. announced last month that the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) produced $10.33 million in revenue during the first two months of 2010. Total revenue for the same period last year was $4.51 million, marking a 129 percent increase over 2009 figures.
The number of transactions for January and February 2010 were also up, compared to a year ago. This year, there were 971 transactions. In 2009, there were 803 transactions.
Since its inception on 1999, the CPF has generated $615.16 million. Revenues for 2009 totaled $40.3 million. Projected revenues for 2010 have been estimated between $55 and $60 million.
