Town Cites Illegal Transfer Station In Flanders

FYI I'm pretty sure storing dumpsters even with debris in them is not quite a Transfer Station. Also whoever wrote this artical should check their facts first as Mr. Fisher was not even given a ticket which I'm sure must be a matter of record that can be checked. He was asked to move the boxes which he did and his fire extingusishers were expired which he fixed the same day. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill. I guess the Town wanted to make it sound good to justify the expense of sending all those different agency's to enforce an expired fire extingusher!" Mar 14, 11 10:57 AM

There were No tickets issued He was told to replace his fire extinguishers which he did the same day. At the FRNCA meeting Monday it was stated that the he was in full compliance. Not to mention that he was already in the process of moving all equipment at the time. As far as any issues with Southold Town that is a completely separate company and no residential waste was ever at that location at any time. These were construction containers being kept untill they could be moved. There were no contractors dumping anything there period.Thats it and it wouldn't be the first time the media was less than truthful. I guess the reality just wasn't exciting enough."
