Southampton Town Board considers capping County Road 39 moratorium early
Last year's highway improvement was an environmental disaster to those of us who used to clam in the waters of cold spring pond, behind Sebonac. I have photos of runoff from the highway pouring in to the estuary during a storm and would like to see these used in court.
As to more strip malls and King Kullens -- lets not forget that these are not the reason why people come out the hamptons. I live in the cr98 development area and let me be very clear: I do not want these stores in my backyard. I am not opposed to development, only to the kind that takes away and does not give back.
We are entering a new paradigm in american history -- where it is CLEARLY understood that business has an evil habit of attempting short term gains at the expense of the long term good. Need I elaborate???
The Town is on the verge of making a big mistake.

Both the residents and the baymen should speak up about the effects of the ct rd 39 construction and development planning. Cold spring pond water quality is in a process of degradation due to the newly constructed stormwater control system for ct rd 39... and other activies in the area have potential negative effects... including health problems.
It sure is nice that the residents are in a position to complain about the baymen... please don't take it for granted."

assessments in the town are unfair in my opinion -- they favor the rich. I went to the greivence and asked an assessor why it was that for a given house type, significantly larger property sizes pay only slightly higher taxes.... and do you know what he said? He said larger property is usually considered a liability due to greater the maintenance expenses. Do you know what I think? The drunken driven was a bad thing -- but it is just one event. Do you know what is worse? The "drunken" behavior by politicians who pushed through the cr 39 redevelopment.
