Southampton Town Denied Temporary Restraining Order On Noyac Property

Why doesn't Code Enforcement visit this house at 5:30am to see if a family is sleeping there overnight? Plus, whose name was the Rental Permit, if any in? Now that we're on the subject, what about the P.Diddy Ciroc Vodka Cabana House? How is it that this house is legal too? Are you trying to tell me that no employees of Ciroc or PDiddy's crew are sleeping at the house? Sounds like SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT to me!!!!" Aug 19, 11 9:31 PM

UPDATE: There Is Still Room At Shelters For Local Residents

Really? I would love to see a boycott of all stores, restaurants, cleaning, maintenance and repair companies for just one week. You morons would be crying your eyes out without the money of those who are "over-achievers," and truly embrace what America has to offer. Move to Iowa if you want to live in a sleepy state." Aug 27, 11 11:31 AM

And what were the schools and town facilities like before all the tax $ came in? Those who provide all the funding, can't vote, don't use the schools and have to deal with such negativity. You're just soooo spoiled and angry that you didn't do more w/your own life.

Large Water Mill House Demolished In Fire

Luckily no one died fighting this fire, however if they did, the blood would be on the hands of Mr. Betts and Mr. Lombardi. They've made it impossible for many of us to make a living off of our rental homes. I'm not saying the fire was set intentionally, however, it wouldn't surprise me to see more fires like this in the future and someone LOCAL will eventually pay the ultimate price. So, suffer a loss of life or a few summer weekends of people partying. Let's see how long the new Rental Law lasts when someone's left without a father or husband." Feb 7, 12 7:25 PM

Really... there are over 7,000 rentals in the Town of SH and less and 700 homes with Rental Permits. That's 10% for you idiots. So, yes, they are selectively enforcing the law. Plus, my real estate agent said there are record foreclosures this past quarter, so not being able to rent out homes on a short-term basis as in the past, is a major financial issue. Plus, not being able to sell in this economy has caused some to have desperate thoughts and actions. Can't say that it hasn't been suggested to me to just b**n the MF down. I would never do that, however others may and probably have already. That's all I'm saying.
" Feb 8, 12 4:58 PM

You know what, you're right. It's the pampered, entitled people of the Towns of SH that will be to blame if a tragedy happens. Thanks for correcting me." Feb 8, 12 6:39 PM

My house was busted because the Town thought there was a PROM at the house and there wasn't. Instead they tortured the family with 8 cops cars arriving at 5:30am and walking into their bedrooms and scaring the hell out of them. Then, the Town sends out a PR saying I had a Prom, 1 not 16 working fire alarms, make-shift bedrooms (lies), etc. I know there needs to be laws however the Town loves to make themselves look good in the press, I so know.
" Feb 12, 12 4:15 PM

That's no what I'm saying at all. Thousands of people purchased their homes as investments with short-term rentals in mind. Now the law changes and we're all screwed because the market isn't going to supply us all with long-term rentals, especially in this economy. So, you either break the law, hope not to get caught or get caught, and not only can't pay your bills, but now legal fees and fines.

Yes, there are people out there who will be desperate and do desperate things inorder to save their investment because of this law. Dan's Paper reported in Novement that a RECORD # of house fires have occurred in the Hamptons in the past year. Hmmm .... any connection?

Entitled...yes, when a small majority create laws that only benefit themselves and then tax the same people, you can't expect to recieve respect." Feb 12, 12 4:21 PM

Excuse me, but I'm a CIVIL SERVANT, who worked hard, went to school and did well. Ah....the American Dream, right? Don't group me with others when you don't know what you're talking about. My Dad was a cop, so trust me, I'm no snob. Deal with the fact that you live in a RESORT COMMUNITY. Without the beaches, you'd be a town in the middle of Kansas struggling to make a living. You're all in bitter denial, that's why I could care less about enjoying myself when I'm out east. " Feb 16, 12 5:41 PM

Hamptons Visitors Council Says Cut In Funding Could Hurt Tourism Industry

Why not advertise the FACT that if you want to rent a home in the Hamptons, you should be aware that it must be for a minimum of 29-days otherwise it's illegal? You don't want tourism, then be honest in your advertising. See what happens to your local economy!!" Feb 24, 12 6:23 PM

Competition Added To Many Roadblocks Facing Shinnecock Casino Hopes

Yes, I support a casino on INDIAN land. The town of SH has fought to not have them have a casino on THEIR LAND. Now, they are totally out of luck. They are nothing in this big pond. Your politicians have no power in the big picture of NY politics. BTW, we have LI coming into OUR city 365/24/7.

So, I wonder if this comment is off topic? " Dec 7, 13 9:14 AM

As Housing Prices Rise, Younger People Take Off

Just sold my house because the Hamptons isn't fun anymore. Too many rules and BS. Keep trying to keep things the same and you'll never learn. People are paying millions to live in CROWN HEIGHTs and BEDSTY. The worst ghettos in this city. Stop being so self-centered and look around. Just because you live on the tip of an island, it doesn't mean you're protected. It's only going to get worse. " Apr 29, 14 6:25 PM

Airbnb Opens Doors To A New Type Of 'Hampton Rental'

Cyril's Fish House Liquor License To Be Cancelled
