Councilwoman closer to deciding on supervisor

MS. ANNA THRONE-HOLST IS PROBABLY THE BEST THING WE HAVE COMING. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY ISSUES AS TO WHY OR WHO SHE IS SEEN IN PICTURES WITH AS LONG AS SHE IS BI-PARTISAN IN HER WAYS, IDEAS, BELIEFS, AND OPINIONS. THE FACT THAT WE HAVE SOMEONE THAT IS THIS GOOD THINKING ABOUT THIS OFFICE IS BETTER THAN WHAT WE ALREADY GOT. MOVE OVER KABOT BRING IN THE HOLST. I HOPE SHE RUNS AND WINS SO WE CAN LISTEN TO SOMEONE WITH A REAL VOCABULARY RATHER THAN SOMEONE WHO USES MADE UP WORDS IN HER EXPLANATIONS OR ACCUSATIONS." Apr 8, 09 5:49 PM

Seventh day of deliberations ends with no verdict in Oddone case

Well its been a long time coming. Some of you guys got me because I am not only amused, astonished, and most times saddened about what you have said about Andrew. I will tell you that I knew him very well and more so than any of you could ever or would want to assume to think. You make statements that you hide behind with your screen names and yes I have mine too. I guess I've become addicted to reading into these comments and letting myself think that people could ever believe others would read them. Maybe its time for those of you who have nothing good to say to say nothing at all. Does it give you some kind of thrill that because you post a comment that is so far from the actual truth or knowledge of the situation or person others may rightfully defend there own passionate beliefs. So what about freedom of speech if it doesn't stand a chance against the lies and unfounded information that is posted so often on these articles about the tragedy for Andrew's family. You forget one thing, that the softest pillow is a clear conscience and wouldn't you have a tough time knowing if you did something so wrong that you have to live with it for the rest of your life. We must all pay for our actions especially when we are so wrong and despite what a jury may give as there verdict. As for the defense team of Anthony Oddone I refer to an old saying - Oh what a web we weave when we practice to deceive. Unfortunately and fortunately our judicial system is several hundred years old but we the people have changed morally, socially, and culturally during this time. I can only hope that when the fate of Anthony Oddone is determined it was made with the minds of people that can see with what is right and not follow or hide behind people that make comments like the ones made on this such article. Our moral obligation to our society has taken a big hit over the last few decades and some of you are the product of this. Hopefully you can identify your own faults before you begin to post outlandish comments about people and situations you don't even know. Do us all a favor, say a prayer for the families involved because it is an unbelievable tragedy and take time out of your own life to reflect on what good you have done for society and how you can make it better and not hold us back from being a better people." Oddone guilty of first-degree manslaughter, jury announces Monday

Juror #2 thank you for being so honest and forthright. The world needs more of you. It was pretty obvious when we watched all of you after the deliberations began that Juror #3 was causing a problem just by looking at the facial expressions and especially the time when she leaned in to whisper to you and you blew her off. All of you on the jury where given a difficult task and let it be known that we had confidence in you all along even when the defense tried some of their tactics for a mistrial. I am Andrew's brother James and I would like to thank you for your kind words to our family and your due diligence through this whole process. I would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season and we will do the same. Please rest assured that a lot of stress and pressure has been lifted off our family after this ordeal over the past 8 weeks and we can go on and heal. God Bless! P.S. the other fellow that sat near or with my parents every day in court was my best friend (another honest and forthright person just like yourself)." Dec 15, 09 10:23 AM

Southampton Town analyst says proposed wind turbine would harm environment

Wow its amazing that over 100 years ago the windmills in Watermill, East Hampton, Southampton College, National Golf Links of America and several other locations must have Killed many bats, piping plovers, and several other species common to the area and these windmills are much larger in diameter than the wind turbine. What amazes me is that they species are still here! I guess these windmills didn't have any effect on wildlife and this must be an excuse. Remember real estate and property values didn't matter then but the way of life was much more important. Town Hall meetings were probably a lot simpler. This is what we've become people. There's still time to fix it and you don't need a bachelors or a masters degree to do so just something you can't teach in school and thats called common sense. Oh and by the way these windmills are still around and useless but they are part of our history and landscape and nobody complains about what they look like. Kind of hypercritical wouldn't you say?" Yes Trace I agree there is no change. I was writing against the stupidity myself. But at the same time what about the birds around the airports that fly into the propellers of airliners. Are we shutting down major airports or trying to find ways to make it work. My point was did people have such a hard time with windmills a hundred years ago as they do today and if so why were they built. I think I know the answer to that." Jan 7, 10 3:24 PM

Southampton Man Charged With DWI After Driving Wrong Way On Sunrise Highway

I wasn't defending him, I would think thats his lawyers job, but your limited choice of vocabulary and calling him a savage shows a sense of reckless thinking almost like his driving. DWI is serious but unless he is a habitual abuser of this then I can't really judge a one time horrendous choice that he made. We're only human and no matter how big or small we make mistakes I am however glad that the outcome was not severe. I only hope and pray that this will help our conscience in our daily decision making wether it be voting, driving, opinions, etc." Sep 16, 11 7:57 PM
