UPDATE: Voters Approve East Quogue Budget

Congrats to E Q E S for rallying the voters. Wish they didn't have to try so hard to get residents to care about the kids." Jun 20, 13 8:02 AM

Political Newcomer Wants To Bring Fresh Perspective To Westhampton Beach

It is refreshing to finally have a candidate with new ideas, and a plan to move forward in this Village. The status quo has been stagnant for a long time. Horrah for Maria for accepting the challenge and promising to work on over-due changes needed for our Village. " Jun 17, 14 7:16 PM

UPDATE: Moore Ousts Teller As Westhampton Beach Mayor

this is a great victory, not only for Maria Moore, but for our Village that sorely needs a major change in direction. Maria has earned a mandate from the residents to accomplish all the changes she campaigned for. It is going to be an exciting time for WHB, instead of same old, same old!" Jun 20, 14 11:08 PM

New Westhampton Beach Mayor Seeks Pay Increase

Every Mayor since Bob Strebel has been paid $25,000. Teller claims he took a pay cut because "he couldn't ask others to do so unless he did". During his entire tenure at Village Hall, every single employee got an annual raise, whether deserved or not...NO ONE TOOK A PAY CUT. Perhaps the underlying reason for the cut was for pension and tax purposes. I, for one, would rather pay a Mayor $25,000 who will do something for this Village, then pay $12,500 for someone who did nothing positive in all of his years in office. The position should pay even more than that to put up with some of the comments made. Maria deserves the money and a fair chance to enact her agenda" Jul 10, 14 9:21 AM

Westhampton Beach Village Board Could Withdraw Police Commissioner Idea

The most ludicrous remark of the evening was Patricia DiBenedetto, who, when asked her opinion, stated that she is there to listen to the residents and she is "still learning her job". After 4 years as a trustee, she readily admitted that she doesn't understand the police dept. or what each job represents. It's time to get her out and get someone in who doesn't need four years to "learn the job".
Of course, Hank Tucker danced around the question and said he is there to support the other Trustees. As usual, he never admits to anything, but continues to put "spin" on every subject. Time for him to go!" Feb 6, 15 10:16 AM

Tucker, DiBenedetto Run On Record, Experience In Westhampton Beach Election

Pat DiBenedetto is giving herself credit for doing a park on Glovers Lane. Where is it? Never planned, never started, after four years with her in charge.
Hank Tucker touts his involvement with Moriches Bay project, yet I have never seen him at any of their events. All this sounds good when you want to get re-elected, but how about doing something all these years in office?" Jun 16, 15 3:06 PM

Westhampton Beach Village Board Challengers Promise Faster Results

This Village really needs business men with some new viable ideas. As far as going to the meetings to hear resolutions being read, both Rob and Brian have listened to the people in the Village and I am sure have gleaned more from that than they would sitting in a 22 minute Village Board meeting. Our Mayor was criticized for not attending meetings before she ran for office, and by doing exactly what Rob and Brian are doing, she came into office with fresh ideas, and a new perspective. I am sure they will do the same." Jun 16, 15 3:11 PM

Westhampton Free Library Employees To Vote Friday On Unionization

It's a shame that Sabina Trager has latched on to the staff's right to unionize to further her own vendetta against the board. Her personnel file remains confidential, as it should be, leaving her a forum to spout lies with no repurcusions .She has a long history of abusive and erratic behavior in the Village, in particular with the school system in WHB..
It is important to note that the staff and director, with the support of the Board, have accomplished a venue that has set high standards and continues to do so every day. That is the only issue that is important. The staff has every right to make the choice of joining a union or not without a malcontent involving herself in the process. " Aug 20, 15 9:35 AM
