Vice President Biden visited Hamptons over Columbus Day weekend

I found it very exciting that we had the vice president visiting Jobs Lane in
our special village. Bravo to Miss Gilmore who took the pictures and shared them
with the southampton press! For all those sour people who commented
negatively, maybe they need to get a life then they might be a little more happy!
For the mother-in-law who said they were "actually behaved" in church maybe she needs to ask herself why she bothers attending church if she's going to bad mouth everyone after mass.

Untapped Ability holds fashion show for Gabby's Inspiration

The show was superior! Every model looked great even the little white dog
that wore a cute outfit from Little Lucy's looked like he was enjoying himself.
Bravo to the Untapped Ability!" Feb 23, 10 8:13 AM

Woman pleads not guilty to grand larceny and writing bad checks to East End businesses

She was in my store last summer going under the name of "Nydia". I remember
being glad that I didn't take her check because my neighbor did and it bounced
several times. I hope that the justice system come down hard on her. I remember
a few years back there was a mother & daughter team running around stealing
from all the shops in town, everyone knew who they were but nothing was ever done about it.

Arts Harvest Southampton faces backlash from local merchants

The music on Jobs lane was BLASTING into the shops. I mean BLASTING!
I'm sorry, maybe I'm getting snobbish after living in the hamptons for 30 years but
I've kind of figured out what type of music people out here prefer. I think that Blue
Grass and Johnny Cash are great for kentucky but why not try to suit the area?
Between the country and the way too loud rock n roll, I found it distracting rather
than appealing for the visitors walking our sidewalks. I thought the whole idea was to get people in the area to shop? I even heard people complaining that they needed ear plugs as they walked by.

One more thing. Why not ask the merchants what the customers out here in the hamptons like? I would think that after dealing with the people who come out here
for many years they should be able to give some good advice." Sep 27, 10 8:29 AM

Saks Fifth Avenue closes Southampton store this past weekend; Water Mill's Citarella also closed

Well I have to comment on this one. I actually was ready to drop a few bucks in saks over the summer and couldn't find much to buy. I was disappointed in
the selection. Everything looked old fashioned and quite tacky. I must say that
they would have been better off with better buyers for the store. I found one simple Donna Karen dress in black which I purchased. The rest of the dresses looked
out dated. -On a different note I think that we the local people should try to shop in
our town. I have been lucky in other stores such as Palm Produce, Chico's and Prim Rose that have affordable stylish clothing. Locals ask the local shops for donations to support a cause "they" believe in, but won't shop from them which would help keep these stores in business." Oct 6, 10 9:56 PM

Surf Camp Causes New Conflict At Picnic Area Beach

I do a yearly "benefit" for homeless dogs and I have to get a permit, pay for police assistance, plus have my own insurance cover it, for the safety of our village & towns people. Which I can understand. What I don't understand is why the town & village is opening themselves up for a huge lawsuit if any of these kids get hurt or someone else, who is a innocent bystander. Everyone should have the right to enjoy the beach, surf etc. But this is a growing business taking place on our beach that is obviously intrusive to others.
