Still No Buyer For Hampton Bays Diner Building One Year After Closure

I'd love to see a mega Hampton Coffee put in there! It would be awesome!" Aug 17, 16 4:59 PM

Officials Struggle To Find Source Of Loud Noise In Westhampton Beach Saturday Morning

Soon after 11:00am, I was actually outside of my home in Hampton Bays and heard a very LOUD rumbling noise in the distance. As the noise got louder, I noticed a private jet fly over my house. It looked as if it was flying at normal altitude but it was much louder than usual. The plane also had weird markings. Navy belly and red circle on the tail. Not sure what it means, but I did find it unusual. " Oct 8, 16 10:41 PM

Study Predicts Southampton School District Student Population To Shrink 22 Percent Over Next Ten Years

THANK YOU! As a young professional myself who grew up here and who would like to eventually raise a family in this community, I’m finding it nearly impossible to find a house that’s affordable. Every property starts out at $500,000 and it keeps rising. How can any young couple afford that? Even with 2 decent salaries, it’s still out of reach. This is a huge problem that the town board must continue to recognize. Builders also need more incentives to build small starter homes. The demand is there! I know many young families & couples in the same predicament. " Mar 8, 19 7:08 PM

And where exactly is that? Not everyone is willing to invest & raise a family in an area on LI with gang activity and bullets flying on a weekly basis. If you want hard working young people who grew up in this community to stay here, then there needs to be more incentives to keep them here. It’s not rocket science. What’s going to happen when all of the locals move away? Continually building massive 6 bedroom/4 bathroom houses that are vacant for 9 months out of the year doesn’t solve anything.
