Squiretown Restaurant-Bar fills a gap in Hampton Bays

The transformation to this place is amazing. It has very bright yet cozy feeling, very enjoyable for a relaxing cocktail at the bar - and the drink prices are more then reasonable.
The food is excellent - a definate step above pub food without leaving you broke. I have enjoiyed several dinners here so far and can't wait for my next visit! I highly reccomend Fresh Tuna salad appetizer and the Skirt Steak - YUM!" Mar 11, 10 1:51 PM

Southampton Town Leaf Pickup Program Still Confuses Many

I witnessed the town pick up loose leaves all down my road. I am very annoyed that this was done after such a big stink about having to have the leaves bagged. the added time & expensive. The town was able to clean up debris and leaves in a fast efficient manner after the Hurricane - why cant they do it every fall?? I am not confused but it sure seems the Highway Department is - change is a constant? Then I say let's see change - bye bye Mr. Gregor" Dec 14, 11 11:48 AM

Community Split Over Potential Closing Of Neptune Beach Club

Why does the public have the misconception that the Town can buy property without the owners consent lol.

"And for the people upset that the business will be closed "by the town" they need to realize that it's only closing because the property owner wants to sell it to the town (instead of putting it on the open market and selling it to other club owners). Seems to me as though the owner of Neptunes is trying to ensure that a nightclub use no longer occurs there."

Good Ground Park Designer Discusses Potential Features, Including 'New Main Street'

Public/Municipal projects are open to all qualified companies to bid. The bids are opened in public and awarded to the lowest bidder who meets all the qualifications. Standard procedure. Although I also would have liked a local company to do the work this process makes sure there is no favoritism or over paying for work.

Rumba Now Leasing Parking Space At Hampton Bays High School

How can a public school be allowed to lease space to a business that serves alcohol? Even if it is used just for employees - the probability of those parking there having a few drinks is extremely high. Not quite the “It’s a drug-, tobacco- and alcohol-free zone" the school is meant to be.
Isn't It bad enough to have the Rumbus recklessly speeding down Wakeman Road " Jun 23, 14 12:17 PM

UPDATE: Truck Hauling Dirt Overturns On Flanders Road, Partially Crushing Car

My prayers to both driver and hope all are alright - but When will be people slow down and realize Big trucks cannot stop a quick as a regular car. No one needs to get anywhere so fast they can't wait for a proper opening in traffic. Life is too short to rush through it." Jul 24, 14 12:40 PM

UPDATE: Publick House Will Reopen Friday Night

I am slightly confused on why people would offer to pay or suggest a GoFundme when the money owed was already paid by us the patrons..........they collect the tax prior to paying the State - I understand hard times and higher costs but this is business 101 - Not for the private sector to solve" Jul 14, 17 12:12 PM
