Shinnecock Tribe Members Plan To Protest U.S. Open Over Lack Of Participation

The locals who have "volunteered" to work at the Open, have to pay a fee to volunteer their services.

Can Tuckhahoe count on taxable income now that these are not "membership fees"?

Southampton Town Looks To Blinking Traffic Light To Improve Traffic Flow

A blinking light at Flying 'Farrell' Point intersection would be a nightmare for locals. Trying to turn left from Hampton Road onto 39W is a death trap.
Cops should be utilized as a flashing yellow light at that intersection, as well as at Narrow Lane & Hampton Road, and Hampton Road & David White's particularly between 7am - 7:30am, and 2:00-3:00PM for the school traffic. When school's out, a yellow light might be ok. The circle could also work.

UPDATE: Southampton Village And Town Police Work Together On Traffic Signal Modifications

ORGANIZERS:
PLEASE OPEN GATE 7 AT THE NORTH END OF TUCKAHOE ROAD TO PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC FOR THOSE OF US WHO LIVE ON THAT SIDE OF THE COURSE AND WERE TOLD LAST WEEK IT WOULD BE OPEN FOR THE OPEN!!! DRIVING AROUND TO PARK AT THE COLLEGE WHEN WE CAN WALK IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. WITH THE AMOUNT OF EXTRA TRAFFIC FLOWING THROUGH OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AT ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT THERE SHOULD BE A COURTESY PASS FOR RESIDENTS TO ACCESS CONVENIENTLY!!! Thank you in advance." In 3-2 Decision, Southampton Village ARB Approves Mocomanto Expansion Plan

Or build a 20 ft tall, 100 ft long railroad-tie sound barrier bulk-head wall along county road 39 @North Main Street for the Allen Court residents and paint it green to try to camouflage it. Did that really get approved? It is so unsightly." Jun 13, 18 8:19 AM

UPDATE: Southampton Village And Town Police Work Together On Traffic Signal Modifications

No I don't, and, actually there IS a rear-gate entry for pedestrians but the first day the door police were uniformed, but uninformed of the rear pedestrian gate, now known as gate 6. There is in fact a metal detector there. My personal convenience was in fact a concern of my family's as they were all with me and the 10 other people we brought to the course. Someone cared. We got through yesterday, and will continue to use the entrance the rest of the week.
Thanks, SHGC.

Trustees' Battle Over Lettered Roads Continues In Southampton Village

Take it back. Take it all back. Including Dune Road. Let the Town get the Village's share of road maintenance tax. Then 5-10 parking spaces could be provided at each lettered road, AND take back Road E, or Dune Beach and its parking area too that is now a VILLAGE-only beach. A share of taxes for cops and garbage stops would also default to the Town. Build a wall, with a gate @Halsey Neck and charge the Meadow Lane home owners access. Take it back." Jul 6, 18 4:23 PM

Road G, or Jim Aery Way is at the heliport parking, no?" Jul 9, 18 9:03 AM

Closing Of Southampton Village Stores Raises Concern For Some

Change the Village code to allow the greedy landlords to build an additional floor for accessory apartment(s). They can charge the greedy overpriced store owners less money for rent since they'll be getting extra rental income. Then the greedy store owners can lower their prices so the year-round locals will be more inclined to shop in the village. And the people who rent the accessory apartments will village shop, and walk, and sit on benches, and make it more lively.

Still need better restaurants. :-) " Jan 23, 19 1:55 PM

Southampton Village Residents Rejoice Over Proposed Stricter Regulations To Landscapers

I think the village homeowners pay taxes for the leaf pick up. And the village picker uppers will actually do more than one sweep.

Will the Parks & Rec be banned from leaf blowers too? Are there even any leaves to blow from Memorial to Labor Day? " Jan 23, 19 2:12 PM

Sixty-Unit Workforce Housing Complex Being Considered On County Road 39 In Southampton

Looks like a good spot for an assisted living facility. Adjacent to the rehab center, not a lot of drivers, much needed in this community.
