Three World War II vets remember their days in the Pacific

I hope this was videotaped for cablecast on the public access channel. What a wonderful hisrtorical document this would be. Like JQP, I'm sorry I missed it. " Oct 22, 09 12:10 PM

Throne-Holst missed campaign finance filing deadline

"Ms. Throne-Holst said the treasurer for her campaign, Eric Cohen, failed to meet the deadline."

Gosh, sounds like tjhe incumbent Supervisor's blame-shifting, doesn't it?" Oct 22, 09 3:15 PM

Southampton Village continues to think about deer control

Allowing deer to continue their unchecked growth in a populated area is the real insanity.

C'mon, DD, instead of wringing your hands about this every week, come up with a viable -- note, V-I-A-B-L-E! -- solution.

BTW, Ms. Darwin's factoid about "killing the deer will only work if you kill ALL the deer," is not even remotely accurate." Oct 22, 09 3:22 PM

Audit finds numerous errors in Southampton Town's accounting practices

You don't know Ms. Kabot, do you. P1st?

Yeah, I know, you just can't pass up any opportunity to take pot-shots at a GOP, can you?" Oct 22, 09 3:25 PM

Throne-Holst missed campaign finance filing deadline

No, fcmcmann, you don't have it straight.

Suggest that you do a little research." Oct 24, 09 6:32 PM

The Beach Blogger reported this morning that Southampton Town PBA has already contributed $1800 to the Throne-Holst campaign over the past three months." Oct 24, 09 6:35 PM

Dodger: "As for Linda, she would be the first to tell you that Skip taught her 'everything she knows.'"

Are you serious? If you sat Linda Kabot on a hill of fire ants for eight hours, she would never admit to anything like that! Her mentor from the start was the late Vince Cannuscio, and he and Skip Heaney were like oil and water! Their battles were legendary, and Linda was always loyal to Vince!

You have no idea what you're talking about if you're trying to sell something like that!" Oct 25, 09 11:13 AM

And this is relevant to ???

Now, I may be a little soft on my political history here, but I don't recall that Cannuscio was "booted out." Didn't he just step down after three terms?

I DO remember that when Skip Heaney -- the other member of the Town Board implicated in the Ferrara brothers bribery charges -- challenged Cannuscio for the top slot, Cannuscio beat him like the family mule." Oct 26, 09 9:19 AM

Judge orders DA's office to investigate alleged call made following Linda Kabot's DWI arrest

Suspected, now confirmed -- Peioplefirst's capacity for moronic comments knows no bounds.

30 or so years ago, Allen Smith was a pretty good Supervior of Riverhead -- as a DEMOCRAT! His personality, however, rubbed enough people the wrong way that he couldn't get re-elected.

It's pretty obvious that you care little about people, only their party affiliations. so you should change your pseudonym to "Politicalpaartyfirst."

I'd love to come to your house this Saturday evening dressed as Ronald Reagan -- but I wouldn't want to leave a fatherless family just to throw a fright into you." Oct 28, 09 2:07 PM

Tierra Mar closes its doors for good

You're not from around those parts, are you, AndersEn?" Oct 28, 09 6:27 PM

Southampton Town employees protest board over planned layoffs

How many times do you plan on copying and pasting this identical message to different threads. TB?

Who are those "Sign Dogs?" And how are you identifying them as acting on behalf of Chris Nuzzi?" Oct 29, 09 4:20 PM

Judge orders DA's office to investigate alleged call made following Linda Kabot's DWI arrest

Well, TB, that makes three (3!) identical copy and paste messages alleging improprieties by Nuzzi supporters. Do you have anything substantive to support your charges, or are you just out wacking Nuzzi for fun?

I mean, come on now. Put up or shut up!" Oct 29, 09 4:49 PM

Animal shelter supervisor dispels rumors, focuses on adoptions

No, Golfbuddy, the rumors are being spread by Dodger." Oct 30, 09 12:57 AM

Kabot's court date is pushed back to December

If you think you actually KNOW something about "that night," EQme, instead of something you overheard at the laundromat, out with it. " Oct 30, 09 10:07 AM

Southampton Town Board candidate Bridget Fleming (D)

Who is Kay Kidde, and what does she have to do with this race -- or any other?" Oct 30, 09 12:23 PM

Southampton Town Board incumbent Christopher Nuzzi (R,I,C)

Sauce for the goose! " Oct 30, 09 12:25 PM

LaValle was NOT forced to resign, SHNative! That's garbage!

Why are you lying about that? Is that the best you can do with your mud-slinging?

Interestingly, LaValle, who for years ago opted to not seek a third term as Brookhaven Town Supervisor, was last month elected Suffolk County Republican chairman. " Oct 30, 09 12:33 PM

Southampton Town may see an end to 'anoint and appoint' policy

This is what, the fourth or fifth time you've copied and pasted the identical unsubstantiated garbage about "Chris Nuzzi's Sign Dogs?"

Are you really that much of a one-trick pony?" Oct 30, 09 1:09 PM

Southampton Town Board incumbent Christopher Nuzzi (R,I,C)

May you never miss a STOP sign as badly as you missed the point of the Comment by Ridiculous, TB.
" Oct 30, 09 4:43 PM

Well said, Terry -- but I WILL make an accusation: Turkey Bridge (and others like PeopleFirst) are Kool Aid drinkers. You'll note that there's very little thinking, just ad hominem attacks with little if any substantiation.

And TB's numerous copying and pasting of the identical defamatory charges about "Nuzzi Sign Dogs" on the past several days reveals his current strategy: a disinformation campaign.

He speaks to "the serious criticisms I directed at Chris Nuzzi," but got back and look at those charges, and it's mostly partisan sniping.

For instance, TB charges that Nuzzi did nothing i("inaction") and "never questioned or challenged a Republican budget," and then turns around and "spins" one of Nuzzi's cost-cutting actions, the reduction from seven to five members of a number of Town boards (Zoning, Planning, etc.) as "(purging) the Planning Board of two members who have the courage to represent the people instead of the special interests"

I think you might be onto something with your questioning of TB about his activities in the field of public relations or as a "spin meister."

It's interesting that the Democrats (on a national level) used to complain long and loud about "attack dogs from the Republican Right," and fail to notice, or hope that no one else notices, that on this website that they are doing the same thing.
" Oct 31, 09 9:14 AM

Which, apparently, you STILL don't understand." Oct 31, 09 10:39 AM

Kabot's court date is pushed back to December

Whining?!? There's no whining on 27East!" Oct 31, 09 1:25 PM

Tookatz, why don't you and Golfbuddy dial it down here, and get a room somewhere!" Oct 31, 09 7:52 PM

EQme: "if Linda Kabot got any endorsements at all, which of course she has not...."

I guess the Southampton Press doesn't count?

" Oct 31, 09 11:24 PM

"The final nail?!?"

Yes, they endorsed ATH over Kabot, but did you actually read their endorsement?

They got the "her less combative style" part right, but then this?

>>"She has a solid background in running organizations, having founded a school for the learning-disabled and serving currently as the director of a child care and recreation center. Her knowledge of Shinnecock Indian issues is also encouraging."<<

Newsday shouldn't even be allowed to cover anything east of Brookhaven!" Nov 1, 09 10:51 AM

EQme: "Anna Throne-Holst is well educated and has the real-life experience necessary to bring accountability to SH Town Hall."

Please outline, if you can, her relevant "real life" experience. Where do you get this stuff???

"Of course, had Newsday endorsed LK, we would've heard you banging your drum about it this morning."

No, you would not have. Newsday has no relevance on the East End. And the only reason I mentioned her Press endorsement was to point out that a prior statement of yours was incorrect.
" Nov 1, 09 6:02 PM

When you repeat information you know to be wrong, EQme, that's called LYING!

" Nov 2, 09 1:26 AM

You want change? Good -- I have no problem with that.

Stop lying, though." Nov 2, 09 1:29 AM

Southampton Town Trustee incumbent Eric Shultz (R)

There are more compelling reasons that that to not re-elect Mr. Schultz.

He is more interested in power than discharging his responsibities as a Trustee.

And then there's the Dockers application and the Westhampton Cemetery matter. It's disgraceful." Nov 2, 09 1:34 AM

Southampton Town Trustee candidate Bill Pell (D)

Excellent choices, sir!" Nov 2, 09 1:35 AM

Southampton Town Trustee incumbent Eric Shultz (R)

What matter his "depth of experience and historical knowledge" if he is without honor?

Oh, and experience? Ed Warner has relevant experience. So did his father, Bill Bennett and Scott Strough.

So too do Bill Pell and Chris Garvey, both of whom would restore some lost confidence to the Board of Trustees. " Nov 2, 09 8:39 PM
