Excellent choices, sir!" Nov 2, 09 1:35 AM
What matter his "depth of experience and historical knowledge" if he is without honor?
Oh, and experience? Ed Warner has relevant experience. So did his father, Bill Bennett and Scott Strough.
So too do Bill Pell and Chris Garvey, both of whom would restore some lost confidence to the Board of Trustees. "

The Beach Blogger just posted a nice turn of phrase about this, that the Westhampton Cemetery is Tynann's political graveyard.
His stance on that issue showed that he was just a go-along, get-along water carrier for the rest of "the boys," And a West End guy at that! "

Well, that's your choice, but even if you do, it won't be as a Trustee, will it?

This is assuming that the rank and file MOS have the same objectives as the Superior Officers -- clearly they do not, and the Judge's decision should be unheald."

You're not going along with that silly business about Linda Kabot's DWI stop being some sort of pay-back conspiracy, are you?
If any of the Editors or reporters names show up in the police blotter anytime soon, you might have a case.
Actually, I'm surprised that Westhampton Beach still has a Police Department after reading something like this."

Yeah, the ATH margin would have been 12-13%.
What will you come up with next, GB? Anna only won because she's taller and cuter than Linda?"

Other than the first paragraph, this Comment is an utter fiction.
The SCPD Internal Affairs report was presented to the Police Chief, and he handed it up to the Mayor. It was the Mayor who suspended the two officers, not the Chief, and to suggest otherwise is either ill-informed or an outright lie.
If there is any corruption, the SCPD IA report shows that it's on the part of the two officers who have been suspended, and likely on the part of two members of the Village Board.
There is a serious case being made here for the Village Police Department to be disbanded. It would go a long way toward restoring the public's confidence in local law enforcement, and probably save the taxpayers of Westhampton Beach a chunk of money."

whb631: "He is extremely biased and has been known to stir sh*t throughout WHB for some time now."
You say that like it's a bad thing!
Of course he's biased. He's a long time local guy who's tired of the crap that's going on. It doesn't mean that his facts are wrong. I don't always agree with him but I understand what he's doing and appreciate that. "

No, you fathead, it was the Deputy Mayor at the time!
But you're right, if anyone else would have done something like that, it would have been off to the hoosegow!
>> "If they have nothng to hide an investigation will reveal that as well."
What's funny is that now three or four of the Trustees are trying to hide the investigation, and doing a BAD job of it!
Maybe they entire PD should be disbanded as was done on the North Fork a number of years ago,"

This is one of the stupidest comments yet! Do you even understand what "cold blooded" means?" Nov 6, 09 8:22 PM
That's a good question. I remember there being some question about whether he had actually had a license for a handgun at the time of his possum rampage, but there was a suggestion that the Mayor, his old Chief, called in a favor with the Sheriff's Department, and then he suddenly had a license.
At least that's the way I heard it told at the time."

Let's see -- wasn't "T.J." outed as one T.J. "Jeff" Speer in a related thread earlier this month? And I learned from the Beach Blogger last week that Officer Speer is the president of the Westhampton Beach PBA.
So his alarmist comment must be taken in context, just as every union head's ridiculously collective self-serving comments must be evaluated.
"T.J." disingenuously fails to take into account that should Westhampton Beach disband its police department, including its duplicated dispatchers, there would be a huge reduction in budget which would more than make up for the increase in Southampton Town taxes within the municipality.
That's what happened in Greenport when Southold Town took over, and it really looks like the Village should do a cost-savings analysis and present it to the taxpayers."

Those particular officers under suspension will always have that cloud hanging over them, so the Village needs to get rid of them both. Not only is their credibility shot, but it might make some of the others walk the straight and narrow for a change -- if the Village doesn't decide to disband the entire Police Department and let Tony Tenaglia have a "come to Jesus" meeting with the entire rank and file before the Town PD absorbs them" Nov 10, 09 7:57 PM
Tynann's probably right about having only two lines hurting him -- the top three GOP Trustees had between 1300 and 1500 votes on the Independence and Working Families lines.
The question is, why did Tynann only have the two lines?
The other Trustees can spin this however they like, but an incumbent Trustee lost and they seem to be in denial that the cemetery matter was a factor. It's a very emotional -- and not always rational -- issue/
