So terribly sorry for your loss." Apr 21, 11 4:19 PM
Well he does have another job to get to doesn't he?
" Apr 29, 11 5:17 PM
"Unless you are an expert, it is ridiculous for you to determine anyone’s anger issues by their history or how anyone will react after being pushed off a table. I believe, Oddone was denied an expert. "
An expert in what, anger issues? This sentence, not surprisingly, makes little sense.
Would he have listened to the DJ say get down, after being told to get down by someone else? He was told to get down more than once. He didn't.
"Oddone was caught off guard".
Again, no clue what that is referring to. " May 4, 11 2:38 PM
"Ms. Petrie’s South Bay Avenue house...They reportedly found several 14- to 18-year-olds drinking alcohol with, they said, the full knowledge of Ms. Petrie"
"...man’s home on Uncle Leo’s Lane. They found about 15 minors drinking, they said, with the full knowledge of the homeowner,"
Seems like the same thing to me. Although it appears he had more under aged kids drinking. Something seems curious." Jun 5, 11 6:31 PM
I didn't see anyone disagreeing with you, they are questioning why the other person didn't have their name printed and were seemingly charged with something different. The way the story reads, they are both accused of the same thing." Jun 5, 11 7:04 PM
sorry I was replying to jenniferp. No one said that the first woman was wrong, just why wasn't the 2nd person treated the same.
As for the aside, sadly I understand." Jun 6, 11 3:45 PM
So how will you be addressing this issue?
For years I've heard complaints about the leaves not being picked up. What is the solution and how will it be implemented?" Jun 27, 11 12:29 PM
Everything used to cost less money. Less people, less salaries, benefits were cheaper etc etc.
Surely no one is saying the leaf issue has been around for ages and was unaddressed!" Jun 27, 11 12:31 PM
Many of these "neglected citizens" live on private roads. They are responsible for the maintenance not the town tax payer. You have to know your facts before you complain about things like that.
I do agree Alex inherited these problems. " Jun 27, 11 5:14 PM
It's stupid and dangerous no matter why they did it." Jun 27, 11 11:12 PM
According to the graduation brochure Cameron did graduate and was attending college." Jun 28, 11 7:28 AM
It is understandable that you wouldn't know. In the end, it really doesn't matter. Such a terribly sad event." Jun 28, 11 11:26 AM
I have to agree. Trying to fix a broken system after all those years isn't going to be easy or popular." Jun 28, 11 11:33 AM
Be that as it may it is the law and establishments are supposed to follow it." Jun 29, 11 10:20 AM
Sure there were comments...they were left in t he comment section after the story of the underaged drinking in Remsenburg. Why would they be here? Should we counter post everything so people can't make ridiculous statements?" Jul 2, 11 8:46 AM
His life probably is better. It's ours that isn't." Jul 2, 11 8:53 AM
The confusion stemmed from the fact that he was in the program. I don't think anyone was trying to be intrusive they were just commenting on the original story. I haven't seen where anyone cares why, they just care that yet another young person died in a senseless accident." Jul 2, 11 8:56 AM
I was thinking about this when I read (perhaps in another paper?) that there was an EQ boy & his WH friend were stopped and charged with possession of alcohol, among other things. They must have known or at least heard of this horrible accident. Yet, a few days later it didn't stop them from driving around drinking. Kids just never think it will be them. It's heartbreaking." Jul 2, 11 9:06 AM
Welcome home David and thank you for your service!
" Jul 2, 11 7:22 PM
I don't really think that doing this before the parade was the intention of a "flash mob". The people were there, waiting for entertainment. I am sure there are more than a few people who didn't realize at first that it wasn't part of the parade.
I'm not offended but I also didn't find it too original." Jul 5, 11 10:13 AM
I seem to have missed the "snide, aggressive comment"! I don't care where she is from, she is entitled to her opinions. " Jul 7, 11 2:48 PM
I can't imagine they would drop it unless there was no alcohol in his system. Perhaps I am being naive. Why would they have said it was DWI if they weren't sure? Very very odd.
Very very heartbreaking." Jul 20, 11 4:58 PM
I have to agree. Patch reports, the Press has a reputation for printing stories designed to stir things up!" Jul 28, 11 10:30 AM
Some people just don't learn!" Aug 4, 11 11:40 PM
If he can't afford to pay the taxes, he doesn't have to own the house. He doesn't live there in substandard conditions does he?
" Aug 5, 11 7:16 PM
There are some that do and some that can't. It depends on the job the person performs. Village/Town workers do. I'd like to think that if their job responsibility includes watching over someone's life, they wouldn't.
I don't think Mr. Raynor should have considered leaving. He had no way of knowing how long he would be gone and surely someone would have gone in the water. If he was that unnecessary, perhaps the number of life guards on the schedule at a time should be cut." Aug 25, 11 10:03 AM
Well said." Aug 25, 11 10:04 AM
The article says he was on his break. It also says that the beach wasn't "technically" open yet. Not sure how or why you'd have a break before the day started. He also said he'd have been back in 10 minutes. Unless he knew it was a false alarm before he left how would he know he'd be back in 10 minutes?
Lots of facts missing." Aug 25, 11 10:08 AM
I've can bet that we've all lived through more "possible" Cat 4 hurricanes or 2 & 3s for that matter, than you've lived through the actual hurricane. If there it seems that this is actually going to hit land here and will actually be a Cat 2 3 or 4 I am sure people will evacuate. Doing so days in advance I don't really see a reason for.
" Aug 27, 11 3:20 PM
But would you leave if someone told you that you may smell a little smoke in a few days?
The point is, people should be prepared and use their brains. BUT, promoting panic is useless and counter productive.
" Aug 27, 11 3:22 PM
I didn't read where it says that he had a seizure. Additionally, to my knowledge people who suffer "chronic seizures" are not allowed to drive. I don't wish the man ill but clearly she shouldn't be driving.
" Sep 14, 11 9:28 PM
I am confused. You stated that he had a seizure, you agree he shouldn't drive, and you agree he had pot in the car. What false information are you talking about? The fact that he had a seizure? You claim that. The paper said he had pot, you agree. While your support of this person may be admirable saying he did nothing wrong makes no sense.
Would you have felt differently if you, your loved one or child had been in the path of the car? He shouldn't have been driving.
If he has "chronic seizures" he doesn't belong behind the wheel of a car. I'm surprised he has a license.
" Sep 15, 11 6:24 AM
So why do they need to do what they are doing then?
" Sep 15, 11 6:00 PM
Once was when? Which age and stage do you restore to? The dunes and ocean are constantly changing. Inlets naturally come and go. He isn't restoring the dune with a fence or rocks which aren't naturally there." Sep 15, 11 6:02 PM
