The Water Mill Museum invites anyone who may have met, known or interacted with Fred Benedict (1860-1952) of Water Mill to please share their memories with the museum. “Uncle Fred” was a beloved member of the local community, and “Uncle Fred’s Workshop” is preserved at the Water Mill Museum, just as he left it 72 years ago. For the last three years, i-tri, a local youth empowerment nonprofit that trains girls to complete a youth distance triathlon, has met at Southampton High School during the month of April to host our annual Mentoring Day. During this event, we host over 200 middle school-aged girls from 13 different schools across the East End, from Montauk to Mastic, and connect them with women from varied professional backgrounds.
