‘Heroes of the Game’ Returns to Ducks Baseball

Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, in partnership with Legislator Nick Caracappa, the Long Island Ducks, Flagstar Bank and the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency, announced the return of the Heroes of the Game program for the 2024 season to honor local veterans and active-duty military personnel. The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame is accepting applications for its 2024 Student Scholarship program. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 10. LIMEHOF will award $500 scholarships to eligible graduating students from Nassau, Suffolk, Brooklyn, Queens, or Kings (Brooklyn) counties who have shown an interest in pursuing a career in music. The Bliss Morehead Grant Committee has named the winners of the third annual Bliss Morehead Poetry Grant competition. The theme for 2024 was “Hope and Grace”.
