Lorraine Marano died in her sleep on December 23, 2017, at her home in Southampton. She was 77.
Born in Brooklyn, she moved to Long Island in 1965 and became a full time resident of Southampton in 1990. She was a real estate broker in Dix Hills and founded Hearth Realty, Inc., before becoming affiliated with Agawam Realty, Allan M. Schneider and Associates, and then the Corcoran Group in Southampton. Survivors said her generous nature, genuinely caring personality and old-fashioned integrity endeared her to both colleagues and clients alike.
Ms. Marano is survived by her children, Lori A. Marano Rice and Marc Anthony Marano; her grandchildren, Jake Anthony Marano, Nicholas Steven Marano, Isabelle Raine Rice and Sophia Rose Marano, to whom she was known as “Nana.” She is also survived by a brother, Stephen LaRosa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
