Hard to believe that Jay-Z and Beyoncé renting a house in Bridgehampton for just one month six years ago is worth $50 million—but that is a major selling point for an estate that has just been put back on the market. So, we’ll tell you about it, then get to the transaction that brings a New York power couple to that very same hamlet.

Known as Sandcastle, the estate at 612 Halsey Lane was built and is owned by Joe Farrell, who owns the well-known Hamptons construction firm Farrell Building Company. Amenities include a baseball field and tennis court outside, and inside a spa and Jacuzzi, bowling alley, golf simulator, half-pipe, and other cool stuff that take up much of the home’s 17,000 square feet. The ask is $49,950,000. A return appearance by Jay-Z and Beyoncé is not included. Even better, though, is the estate is on 11.5 acres, and these days it’s not easy to find that much private property.

Not close in price at $3,500,000 but of at least equal interest is 257 Toppings Path in Bridgehampton (though we think it’s actually in Sagaponack), which was just purchased by Elaina Scotto and Brett Yormark. The 4,000-square-foot home, built just last year, has 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, and is on 1.2 acres.

Ms. Scotto is a former PR executive who worked for Yves Saint Laurent and now provides catering to the Barclay Center and other large venues. She is a member of the Ms. Scotto family that owns Fresco by Scotto, the popular restaurant in New York. Members of the family can often be seen on TV shows demonstrating cooking techniques. Elaina’s sister, Rosanna, is no stranger to the medium, being the longtime co-host of Fox’s “Good Day New York.” Brett Yormark is certainly no slouch—he is the chief executive officer of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, which owns the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, and related entities.

One more Bridgehampton transaction to report: 20 Sellentin Way, which sold to Craig and Rebecca Waldman for $3,300,000. On the 0.6-acre property is a two-story traditional of 7,000 square feet with 8 bedrooms and 8.5 baths in what is called Lumber Lane Estates. Outside, both covered and uncovered patios overlook the pool, spa, professional landscape, and verdant lawn contiguous to 3.5 acres of open reserve. (Hey, anyone remember the Sellentins, who operated the free weekly publication The Whale?)
