Boutique tea company Plain-T will soon be introducing a matcha and iced tea mobile unit to bring its healthy drinks across the Hamptons for the rest of the summer and beyond.

The on-the-go beverage station is the first phase in a new line of mobile Plain-T units planned for release in the coming year. The mini-mobile unit is planned to be released within the next week, and will be stationed at various Hamptons restaurants, hotels and retailers. The unit will also be available for private party rentals and special events.

The company’s T-Loft tasting showroom, located at 87 Powell Avenue in Southampton Village, has been around since 2016, and offers guests the opportunity to sample tea and learn from experts about the benefits it has to offer. Plain-T was founded eight years ago as a wholesale distributor by former professional athletes Tathiana Teixeira and her husband, Alex Teixeira, who are firm believers in the mental and physical benefits received by consuming whole leaf tea. The mobile unit is the next step for the company’s venture into a retail business.

“We want to make our product more available to the public,” Mr. Teixeira said. “This mobile unit is just an extension of what we have been doing for the past eight years.”

Mr. Teixeira said the unit will be strictly serving three different types of matcha: iced matcha, iced matcha latte with different types of dairy and nondairy milk, and iced matcha lemonade. It will also serve Plain-T’s signature-blend iced tea, white hibiscus iced tea and pure green iced tea.

The duo travels to tea gardens throughout China, Japan, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka and South Africa to hand-pick the best quality tea leaves for their drinks, which are bottled and sold at retailers throughout the Hamptons like Citarella, The Village Gourmet Cheese Shoppe, and Sant Ambroeus, as well as online.

“We’re on a mission to make Americans healthier,” Mr. Teixeira said. “We’re offering something that can benefit anyone.”
