Dorothy Lawson Daly of Jupiter, Florida, formerly of Bridgehampton and Manhattan, died on April 2, 2019. She was 88.
Born in Brooklyn on November 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha Lawson. She graduated from Fontbonne Hall Academy and Notre Dame College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. She married John Daly on November 1, 1952.
Ms. Daly was the director of placement for the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising for more than 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Noyac Golf Club, the Montauk Bridge Club and was an AAU competitive swimmer. She enjoyed golfing, playing duplicate bridge, dancing, traveling and loved socializing with her many friends.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Daly; three daughters, Susan Grymes, Kim Kelly and husband Mark, and Lauren Keating and husband Jerome; 10 grandchildren, Matthew Kelly and wife Kate, Jed Kelly and wife Caroline, Lawson Kelly, John Grymes, Harrison Grymes, Caroline Grymes, Alex Keating, Andrew Keating, Nick Keating and Chris Keating; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Theo, Cora and Amelia; and two sisters, Edna Thornton and Marilyn Miller, both of Florida.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Kay, Bette and Joan.
A memorial service will be held July 13, at 11 a.m. at Queen the Most Holy Rosary Church in Bridgehampton.
