Artist Bastienne Schmidt will be in Montauk on Friday, April 19, to lead an art workshop titled “Personal Voices: Infinite Lines.” The workshop will explore the personal development of expression through photography in the natural environment. Sponsored by The Nature Conservancy, it takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Andy Warhol Preserve in Montauk.
Ms. Schmidt was born in Germany and raised in Greece and Italy. In her photography and mixed media artwork, she explores the concepts of identity and place. Her work falls into the realm of archeology, exploring layers of history and meaning, and reassigning value to them. Workshop participants are encouraged to bring a personal object with them to be photographed. The event is free, but advance registration is required at 631-329-7689.
