East Hampton Town Police
Arrests
Blaine McCormick, 49, of East Hampton was arrested on Friday at 12:19 a.m. at Abrahams Path and Springs-Fireplace Road in East Hampton and charged with reckless driving and fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, both misdemeanors. Police said they saw Mr. McCormick driving south on Abrahams Path when he suddenly stopped his truck, causing the two vehicles behind him to stop, almost causing a collision. He then put his truck in reverse and made an illegal U-turn to proceed north on Abrahams Path, according to police. They said they followed him with sirens on at speeds exceeding 60 mph and he failed to stop at a stop sign and crossed over the double yellow line several times. When he finally stopped, police found that his registration was expired and he was carrying a number of undersized clams in the bed of his pickup truck, also a misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance.
Frederick Loewe, 61, of East Hampton was arrested on April 21, at 8:02 p.m. at North Main Street and Springs-Fireplace Road in East Hampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Mr. Loewe was charged after he was involved in a head-on vehicle collision on North Main Street. They said he failed all sobriety tests and was taken to Southampton Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. He was released on his own recognizance.
Nicholas Fitzgerald, 25, of East Hampton was arrested on April 21 at 6 p.m. at his home on Three Mile Harbor Road at Morris Park Lane in East Hampton and charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Mr. Fitzgerald shoved a woman out of his 1988 Toyota pickup while they were driving on Abrahams Path on April 17. He was released on his own recognizance.
Leonardo Gutierrez, 24, of East Hampton was arrested on April 21, at 5:27 p.m. at Amagansett Drive and Queens Lane in East Hampton and charged with forcible touching, a misdemeanor, for a domestic incident. Bail was set at $300.
Michael Card, 40, of East Hampton was arrested on Wednesday at 10:19 a.m. at Pantigo Road and Amy’s Court in East Hampton and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor. Mr. Card turned himself in to East Hampton Justice Court on a probation warrant and was released on $200 bail.
Shawn Leland, 19, of East Hampton was arrested on April 15 at 1:44 a.m. at Three Mile Harbor and Soak Hides Road in East Hampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Mr. Leland was stopped after police said they saw him driving with no working tail lights and crossing over the double yellow lines several times. He failed all sobriety tests. He was released on his own recognizance.
Javier Hernandez Bravo, 36, of Amagansett was arrested on Sunday at 3:19 a.m. at Red Dirt Road and Accabonac Road in East Hampton and charged with DWI and aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors. Police said they stopped Mr. Bravo after observing him cross over the double yellow lines several times. They said he failed all sobriety tests. Bail was set at $750.
Gary DePersia, 60, of East Hampton was arrested on Saturday at 5:05 p.m. at Route 27 and Ditch Plains Road in Montauk and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Mr. DePersia for speeding and crossing the double yellow line. He failed all sobriety tests. He was released on his own recognizance.
An East Hampton man, 29, was arrested on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Gerard Drive and Springs-Fireplace Road in Springs and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said they were called to the beach at the end of Gerard Drive on a report of reckless driving. The defendant was released on his own recognizance.
East Hampton Town Police charged the following with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor, last week: Kenneth Biondi, 39, of Bohemia and Pablo Estrada, 26, of East Hampton.
Police charged the following with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor, last week: Jose Zabala, 44, of East Hampton and Sergio Iaccarino, 51, of Wainscott.
Incidents
An East Hampton man, 48, reported white and gold graffiti on the front of a public restroom at Fresh Pond Park in Amagansett on April 16.
A Montauk woman, 42, reported that someone broke the window at the new “Kelly B’s” storefront at the Plaza in Montauk on April 19.
An East Hampton woman, 40, reported that someone issued a bad check for $600 to East End Fuel in Amagansett on April 21.
A Montauk man, 60, reported that someone had keyed his Jeep while it was parked in his driveway on Reuter Place on April 21.
East Hampton Village Police
Arrests
Jesse Zenger, 44, of East Hampton was arrested on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at 102 Ocean Avenue and charged with unlawful fleeing of police in a motor vehicle in the third degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. Police said they saw Mr. Zenger drive his Ford pickup across the village green at the intersection of Main Street and James Lane. When they tried to stop Mr. Zenger behind the Seaspray Cottages, they said he fled onto the beach driving east. Two police cars stopped Mr. Zenger in front of the Maidstone Club but he fled again, making two U-turns and in an attempt to get off the beach before colliding with one of the police cars. Bail was set at $285.
