FreshDirect Delivers to Hamptons
FreshDirect, an online meals and food delivery service, has resumed its delivery of seasonal and local produce and foods to customers living in the Hamptons.
FreshDirect offers a seasonal menu featuring a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, barbecue-ready high-quality meat and seafood. The company has an organic and all-natural selection and also carries essential bulk items including health and beauty products, cleaning supplies and beverages.
Competitively priced for summertime convenience, FreshDirect will commemorate the summer holidays—Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day—with weekly specials. This year’s Memorial Day sale features a full rack of grill-ready ribs, boneless rib eye steak and Karl Ehmer chicken bratwurst, all at 50 percent off the regular price.
Delivery zones include full service in the towns of Amagansett, East Hampton, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, Southampton, Hampton Bays, Westhampton and select surrounding areas. Home deliveries can be scheduled between noon and 8 p.m. each Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Saturday. Orders must be complete by 7 p.m. on the night previous to scheduled delivery.

SoulCycle Revamps Studio
SoulCycle, the indoor cycling workout studio in Bridgehampton, will open for its third season on Friday, May 22, with a newly renovated space. The historic 1,600-square-foot barn at 264 Butter Lane has been improved to fit an additional 20 bikes, for a total of 60. Other improvements include two new bathrooms, an upgraded sound system, refurbished floors, and an expanded and resurfaced parking lot. On the wrap-around deck there is a new juice bar featuring signature fresh-pressed juices.
In addition, SoulCycle is set to launch its own indoor cycling clothing line.
Co-founded in 2007 by Elizabeth Cutler and Julie Rice, SoulCycle classes vary in all levels and series lengths.

Hudson City Earnings
Hudson City Bancorp, Inc., the holding company for Hudson City Savings Bank, reported a net income of $127.7 million for the first quarter of 2009, an increase of 44 percent compared to $88.7 million for the first quarter of 2008. Earnings also increased by 44.4 percent to total 26 cents per share for the first quarter of 2009, more than the 18 cents per share earned for the first quarter of 2008. The quarterly cash dividend is currently 15 cents per share, a 7.1 percent increase as compared to the 14 cents per share for the previous quarter.
Hermes Awards Issued
Montauk advertising, web and graphic design firm blumenfeld + fleming is the recipient of eight Hermes Awards for creativity and four honorable mentions.
The firm won three platinum awards for the Baiting Hollow advertising campaign, Smith River Kitchens brochure and Half Moon Restaurant logo and five gold awards for the Lawnwise advertising campaign, GreenLogic advertising campaign, William Dean Platinum logo, Business Wire web banner and the Hedges Inn website.
Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs and emerging technologies.
Citizens Bank in Hampton Bays
Citizens Bank, a division of RBS Citizens, N.A., a subsidiary of Citizens Financial Group, Inc., has opened a ninth Suffolk County branch in the new Stop & Shop Supermarket in Hampton Bays. The new branch features private offices for all account and loan purposes, one ATM machine and a night depository. A full-service bank, business hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sparkling Green Pools
Sparkling Pools and Harbor Hot Tubs promoted a “Going Green” campaign at two local trade shows recently, held in Southampton and Montauk. One product the company has introduced is a new high efficiency pool pump providing up to a 90-percent energy savings over traditional swimming pool pumps. The Long Island Power Authority is currently offering a $200 customer rebate on the purchase of this pump from now through July 31.
The company is also marketing a chlorine-free pool water purification system, safer for swimmers and for the environment.

Insurance Agency Recognized
Maran Corporate Risk Associates of Southampton was named Agency of the Year by the National Flood Insurance Program at its annual convention in Boston. The agency was nominated for this award by Fidelity National Property and Casualty Insurance for outreach to its clients.
