Southampton Village

A 17-year-old Southampton girl was arrested on Saturday at 2:44 p.m. and charged with three counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree, two counts of forgery in the second degree and one count of attempted grand larceny in the third degree, all felonies. Village Police said the girl was babysitting for a Pond Lane family on May 23 and stole a credit card. She took the 4-year-old child she was babysitting shopping with her in the village, where she charged $3,129 at a jewelry store with the credit card, according to police. When she got back to the house, she stole four bank checks and $500 cash, police said. The girl later charged purchases at a gas station and at Target in Riverhead and Rite-Aid and the Cotton Market in Bridgehampton, and deposited two checks for $5,200 each into a friend’s account, police said. The girl, whom police said is a runaway, was remanded to Suffolk County Jail in lieu of $21,000 bail.

Marcos A. Rodriguez, 19, of Centereach was arrested on Sunday at around 1:22 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, both misdemeanors. He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Village Police said Mr. Rodriguez was pulled over for a traffic violation on North Sea Road, and a computer check revealed he did not have a driver’s license. Police said Mr. Rodriguez had a switchblade and a small amount of marijuana in his car. The vehicle was impounded, and he was released on $160 bail.

Keith D. Wingfield, 22, of Southampton was arrested on Sunday shortly after midnight and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation. Village Police said they were called to a domestic dispute at a Windward Way residence where Mr. Wingfield had struck his live-in girlfriend on the face and body, causing bruises. Village Police said Mr. Wingfield violated a court order of protection.

Juan Antonio Estrada-Geron, 46, of Southampton was arrested on May 20 at around 6:40 p.m. and charged with false personation, a misdemeanor. Village Police said Mr. Estrada-Geron provided police with false information when he was arrested on May 8 and charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Police also discovered an Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation warrant for Mr. Estrada-Geron. He was processed and turned over to ICE officials.

Rick S. Rubenstein, 57, of Southampton was arrested on May 24 at around 11:45 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the second degree, a misdemeanor. Village Police said they were called to Halsey Avenue, where a homeowner discovered Mr. Rubenstein passed out in bed. Police said Mr. Rubenstein was intoxicated and entered the home believing it was his.

A 50-year-old anti-illegal immigration protester from East Hampton was cited for disorderly conduct and littering at around 10:14 a.m. on Saturday. Village Police said the man was blasting an air horn in front of McDonald’s at pedestrians and motorists and threw the air horn into the bushes when a police officer approached him.

Village Police charged the following with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree in the past two weeks: Terrell L. Harris, 22, of Southampton; Miguel O. Espinosa-Rengifo, 39, of Riverhead; and Josmar F. Ferreira, 48, of Somerville, Massachusetts.

Village Police charged the following with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor, in the past two weeks: Christopher L. Gonzalez, 25, of Shirley; Pia L. Chepolis, 25, of Sag Harbor; Richard J. Murphy, 44, of Wainscott; and Richard V. Cataldo, 33, of Middle Island. Mr. Gonzalez and Ms. Chepolis were additionally charged with driving with a suspended registration, also a misdemeanor.

Village Police charged the following with driving with a suspended registration in the past two weeks: Ronald M. Westcott, 44, of Southampton; Carlos G. Ponton, 43, of East Hampton; Walther O. Villalobos, 35, of Brooklyn; Dawn M. Pocchia, 46, of Shirley; Alezander Petersen, 47, of Hampton Bays; and Karen F. Jacobs, 46, of Branford, Massachusetts.
