Arrests

Julian Rojas, 46, of East Hampton was arrested on June 11 at 6:08 p.m. at Middle Highway and Oakview Highway in East Hampton and charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony. Police said they responded to a 911 hang-up call and arrived at the scene of a domestic dispute. The victim said she was arguing with her husband and her daughter had called 911, police said. A computer check found an family court order of protection against Mr. Rojas. He was released on his own recognizance.

Michael Papile, 20, of Woodbury was arrested on June 12 at 6:26 a.m. at West Lake Drive and Flamingo Avenue in Montauk and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they responded to a report of suspicious activity in a car parked at Gaviola’s Market near West Lake Drive. Police said they saw a car fitting the description driving erratically on West Lake Drive and stopped the car. Bail was set at $500.

Anne Walsh, 39, of East Hampton was arrested on June 13 at 3:12 a.m. at Town Lane and Abraham’s Path in East Hampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they saw Ms. Walsh cross over the double yellow lines several times. She performed poorly on all sobriety tests, police said. Bail was set at $200.

Fabio Ruiz, 32, of Hampton, N.Y. was arrested on June 14 at 6:01 a.m. at Montauk Highway and Bathgate Road in Wainscott and charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree, both misdemeanors. Police said they responded to a witness’s report of a car accident and found a green Ford off the road on the westbound side of the Montauk Highway. The car appeared to have crossed over from the eastbound lane and gone off the road, hitting a fire hydrant, a telephone pole and stopping at a tree. Police said they found the driver in the Hess station bathroom washing blood off his clothing and hair. He performed poorly on all sobriety tests. He was released on his own recognizance.

Tracy Feith, 47, of New York City was arrested on June 15 at 1:32 a.m. at West Lake Drive and Flamingo Avenue in Montauk and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Ms. Feith because of a defective taillight. Bail was set at $250.

Mary Beth Doran, 22, of Brooklyn was arrested on June 15 at 11:46 p.m. at Route 27 and Second House Road in Montauk and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Ms. Doran because she was driving without her headlights on. She performed poorly on sobriety tests, police said. Bail was set at $350.

Ian Ozturk, 24, of East Hampton was arrested on June 16 at 1:45 a.m. at South Elmwood Street and South Emery Street in Montauk and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Mr. Ozturk because he was driving without his headlights on. He performed poorly on all sobriety tests, police said. Bail was set at $100.

Katherine Chan, 49, of New York City was arrested on Wednesday at 12:49 a.m. at Swamp Road and Route 114 in East Hampton and charged with DWI and endangering a child under 17, both misdemeanors. Police said they stopped Ms. Chan because she failed to dim her high beams for oncoming traffic and drove partially off the road while turning left onto Swamp Road. She failed sobriety tests, police said. Police took Ms. Chan’s daughter to her residence where she was placed in her father’s custody. Bail was set at $500.

Justin Williams, 22, of Kentucky was arrested on Friday, June 19, at 3:15 a.m. at Montauk Highway and Bluff Road in Amagansett and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said that they stopped Mr. Williams because he failed to dim his high beams for oncoming traffic and he was speeding. He failed all sobriety tests. Bail was set at $400.

Rene Morocho, 31, of East Hampton was arrested on Saturday at 8:52 p.m. at Springs-Fireplace Road and West Drive in East Hampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said that they stopped Mr. Morocho after he crossed over the center line of Springs-Fireplace Road almost hitting a marked police car traveling north. He performed poorly on sobriety tests. Bail was set at $500.

East Hampton Town Police charged the following with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor, last week: German Orozco, 28, of East Hampton; Carlos Cabrera, 37, of Hampton Bays; Robert Norbut, 42, of East Hampton; Juan Chuquiana Flores, 24, of East Hampton; John McCaffrey, 44, of Hoboken, New Jersey; Tara Murphy, 25, of Ronkonkoma; Luis Reyes, 43, of Hampton Bays; Kevin Kapica, 28, of Bayside.

A 21-year-old man from Amagansett was arrested on Saturday at 9:26 p.m. at the Old Montauk Highway and Washington Drive in Montauk and charged with disorderly conduct for obstructing traffic, a violation. Police said they received a report of intoxicated men causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, police said they saw the defendant standing in the eastbound lane with his hands in the air causing vehicles to drive around him. Police said they ordered him to get out of the road but he turned away and continued to walk in the traffic lane. Police said he was intoxicated and that while interviewing him, he turned and walked back into traffic until the officer grabbed his arm. Bail was set at $200.
