Exactly six months from today is Christmas. Hard to believe, isn’t it? With the weather being a big yuck, now would be the perfect time to get started on your holiday shopping. I’m aware of how weird that sounds.

There are loads of fun things happening around Southampton over the next few days. “The Enchanted Garden” is this year’s theme for the Southampton Garden Club’s annual flower show being held at the Southampton Cultural Center today, Thursday, June 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. For more information, call Barbara Glatt at 917-861-8603, or e-mail abglatt@aol.com.

Don’t forget about St. John’s Church Fair on Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the church, located at South Main Street. Later that day, the Southampton Rose Society will host a garden tour of four Southampton
Village estate gardens, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $75 each; or $65 each if paid in advance online at southampton-rose-society.org or by calling 204-0107.

Also on Saturday, the Southampton Historical Museum will host a benefit “White House Tag Sale” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 159 Main Street, at the corner of Jagger Lane. Antiques, vintage clothing, collectibles and vintage jewelry have been donated for the one-day sale to benefit the Southampton Historical Museums and Research Center. Admission is free. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 8, for the Southampton Lions Club Charitable Trust and WLNG’s seventh annual oldies spectacular featuring Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, The Vogues and Kenny Vance and the Planotones. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at Southampton High School’s auditorium on Narrow Lane. The master of ceremonies will be Cool Bobby B, the host of WLNG’s “The Doowop Stop” oldies show. Donations are $40 and tickets can be purchased by calling 587-3565. Preceding the concert will be a classic car show at the high school from 5 to 7 p.m.
